Topic: Gordian Knot - with Steve Hackett/Bill Bruford Posted: April 01 2010 at 18:13 |
Just found out about this project Gordian Knot .
On the last album "Emergent" you get both Bruford and Hackett.
Anyone into King Crimson - that can accept that this is instrumental should def. check it out.
Sounds a lot like later Crims.
The Band is created by former Cynic bass player Sean Malone, but its a lot less heavy than Cynic.
Both albums are great instrumental music of the absolutely highest order.
anyway just wanted to say, check it out.

I thought there was also a neo-prog band named Gordian Knot... Let's check.

I'm just amazed that three prog. pros like yourselves haven't heard this phenomenal project before :p
I wish Sean Malone would do some more personal works.

As a metalhead, I know the existence of this group from more than 10 years. I'm rather surprised to find some people which discover this project now. How old are you? It could explain that: after all, Gordian Knot haven't released a lot of albums.

I got both albums almost at the time they came out and I think both are great. I've always recommended them to my prog-loving friends! By the way, Malone's Cortland, although jazz-inclined, is also great. Check them all out!
