I know many are missing, but these are the ones I'm interested in. Which one is the best? You Pick

Secret Story is my favourite Pat Metheny album - very melodic, with excellent use of strings.

Wait!!! you left out a whole bunch!!! By the White Album I'm going to have assume you are implying Pat played with the Beatles. But for the choices offered, you can't go wrong with earlier Metheney even though there is the risk of becoming a Meth head. So I'd go with the first Pat Metheny Group album or actually a new acquisition for me New Chautauqua.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

It's a toss between Secret Story and The Way Up but the latter is my more recent acquisition and I do find it an astounding work, even if it doesn't capture the same beauty found in the former.

I listened to The Way Up, and I don't think it's the masterpiece that everyone says. Does anybody agree?

I think the essence of Pat Metheny to be included in Solo Album almost in my personal opinion. It might start from Bright Size Life. However, the fan of progressive music will be able to enjoy the album of PMG. Especially, it is felt that the work in ECM is high-quality.
His work in recent years has surely expanded the width of the expression. However, I think that his essence is consolidated in an initial work. PMG was a means to pursue the expression as the band exactly for him.
Anyway, I like works announced from ECM.
