I had just finished rewriting my 1 star review to GTR when I discovered with a bit of surprise that they did a second attempt as GTR2 aka Nerotrend one year later. I'm now listening to the album and is not so bad as their first, specially the singer. So if their first 1-star album is on PA, why don't we add the second that's for what I'm currently listening at least between 2 and 3 ?

The album is downloadable from the URL below

Because it's a bootleg; therefore we cannot list it here. (read band Biography on band page: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=814)

Though never officially released, the second album from GTR, or Nerotrend as they were now called, has long been in circulation amongst collectors. Japanese label Elements Of Crime also released the Nerotrend album as a CD on the market and can still be obtained via the net.

So it's no longer a bootleg, however it doesn't matter so much, it was just a curiosity, nothing more.

Therefore it is an unofficial release, ergo it is a bootleg.

By our site rules it is inadmissible.

I have just read the Asia bio The Heat Goes On by DAvid Gallant. It says that Hackett didn't play in GTR's second album, at least in the cuts sang by Robert Berry. Any light on this?

Logic would suggest that Berry sang vocals on the tracks he played on, and it's not inconceivable that Howe got him to re-record Hackett's parts on the Bacon vocalled tracks but unless someone who was in the studio at the time confirms this we can only speculate.

That was said by Downes, who was producing the sessions, but no word about the songs sang by Bacon. He also confirms that the label did not support a GTR Hackett-less.

A thread started 7 years ago resurrects suddenly...I'm surprised.

^ All I can add to this thread is that I picked the GTR album out of a bargain bin for something like £1.49 not that long after it came out (I think the record company musta had the delusion that the H&H names would sell a dog turd and printed up a large quantity of this stinkeroo). I can only concur with our esteemed octopod and lament the £1.48 by which I overpaid.
