Dear friends everywhere,

Sorry we have been out of touch since April. It has been a rough summer so far. The heat in the garage has been brutal but thanks to Todd's urging we finally caved and purchased a BIG air conditioner. I can't wait to see my electric bill.

The bassist we announced in April decided we were not the right fit for his talents and left us after seven weeks. So we are again without a bass player and have been since the end of May. We've had a couple of bites from players who either could not work out their schedule or had to commute from too far away.

We returned to the concept of doing bass on the keyboards, which anyone who knows me, knows I hate doing. However, the more we practice this way, the better it sounds, and I'm pleased to say that we think it's reached the point that we feel comfortable performing as a keyboard/guitar/drums trio. So we've got two shows coming up and are actively looking for more.

The dates are:

Friday, Aug. 13 at Frisby's Side Door in Powhatan, Va. 9pm to 1am. We have put together a nice selection of classic rock songs that lean towards the progressive end of the scale by artists such as Jethro Tull, Rush, Dave Mason, the Allman Brothers, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, the Moody Blues, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Blind Faith and such. We will also be performing all of our CD "Powered by Light" and at least one song from my old solo CD "Starship Universe." I have to be honest though, there's going to be some jamming going on here, but it should be fun.

Friday, Sept. 3 at Local 506 in Chapel Hill, NC. We are very excited to have booked the Prog Day Festival Pre-Show. This is our second trip to Chapel Hill to play the Pre-Show (our first was in 2008). Again, we will be a trio, unless some behind the scenes frantic phone calls produce a bass player LOL! Although the Festival has not made the official announcement because the other bands playing have not yet submitted promo materials, we have gotten permission to announce it to our friends. We will be playing one set, all originals, at 9pm followed by touring bands Dominic and the Lucid(USA), and Jack Dupon (France). Plus the Festival has got some tremendous bands announced for Saturday and Sunday, which you can check out at www.progday.net.

There is a show percolating in New Jersey which we have not in any way nailed down but I hope will happen in late October. We may also succeed in putting together a Richmond show for early that month. And of course we would love to do Baltimore!

So we are continuing the good fight, and I hope to keep KE alive and kicking for the foreseeable future. At this time we do not know when we'll get back in the studio for another record. I would say we need to sell another 1500 units of Powered by Light to make that happen. It may be ordered from Kinesis or Symphonic in the U.S. Just go to our Myspace page at www.myspace.com/kineticelement and scroll down to click on their banners. The Blogs section on Myspace contains links to some of the excellent reviews we have received for "Powered by Light." In the UK it may be ordered from http://www.caerllysimusic.co.uk/. These distributors showed great faith in our music by ordering quantities of it and we would like them to sell out. Of course it can also be ordered from CDBaby at www.cdbaby.com/cd/kineticelement.

We hope to see some of you at the ProgDay Pre-Show and Frisby's, and I will update when and if the other dates get confirmed.

We're in this prog together. As always, if you would like off our mailing list, just ask. I took the liberty of adding a few names of people who have been friendly with us. Thanks for letting us keep in touch with you.
