The Eno half of Bowie's Low (perhaps not exclusively "ambient", but imo Bowie's most prog friendly work, thanks to Eno). Other than that; "EVENING STAR" and then "NO PUSSY FOOTING", (in that order) with a certain mr Fripp!

Now is tomorrow afternoon

I've been an Eno "ambient" fan since Music for Airports came out.  I like it best not only because it was my "first love," but because I feel that, overall, the compositions are the most interesting, mature and listenable.  I also love Plateaux of Mirror, Discreeet Music and Music for Films.  (By the way, re Days of Radiance, Laraji once played at an event on my block!)

Peace.

Eno is a genious. That is all have to say except for the fact that I voted for Music For Airports.

I had "Another Green World" at one time and I remember listening to Fripp/Eno "No Pussyfooting" but I'm at a loss as to where to start. As with so much of the music here the importance is knowing what single release will open the flood gates. I'm more familiar with Eno through his side-man projects than his solo work. I can't vote, but I am intrigued. As far as ambient music, Steve Roach is pretty incredible.

So where should I start?

I like this sort of thing a bit, Steve Roach is my favorite in this genre, and Music for Airports is a goodie in this vein.
