Neal Morse's stuff: One was damn brilliant. I'm atheist, but all the songs on their are great. Especially Spirit and the Flesh, chills everytime.

Lunatic Soul: didn't fill me up the way riverside does, and kinda felt like Damnation, as in, it's missing the element that makes the band good.

The Tangent: Just what  I was looking for - jazzy up beat free form songs.

Mars Volta: First album - masterpiece, second album - interesting electronic w**kery...

Symphony X - meh

Oceansize - only heard effloresce so far, which had moments of greatness but overall didn't seem that spectacular. Might check out other albums.

Flower Kings - yes

Ayreon - bombastic prog-rock-metal-opera is always fantastic. It's like Dream Theater, except it's actually good.

Haken - Aquarius is a perfect masterpiece

Karnivool - one of my favorites now, can't wait to see more from them

IQ - I liked frequency, but the production seemed subpar and the singer is... odd... is there a better album by them?

maudlin of the Well - definitely the proggiest band of them all, really good stuff. "I am a swan's wings, bloodied at the joint"

Still checking out more.

Looking into Dredg at the moment.

Keep the suggestions coming broskies.
Glad to hear you like alot of the recommended bands.

I think Frequency is their best album but try Dark Matter.  Sacred Sound and Harvest of Souls are top class IQ songs.

You might like Karmakanic and Transatlantic.

I've got a solution to all your problems! Check the random MP3s and decide wether you like it or not.

I great album takes a lot longer to digest than listening to a few random MP3s.

Nice to see you like Karnivool - just saw them a couple of nights ago and they were superb. Met Ian (very briefly) and he seemed a nice chap.
