We finally have a (sort of) release date for 'Iconoclast'.

At a recent 'Power Of Metal' show, Russell Allen shouted at the audience 'And we've got a new album coming out in June!!'

June. Also after the almost non-involvement of Nuclear Blast, since the band signed to the label, I find it quite ironic that we only know when the album will come out from something Russell shouted out at a concert.

Well I for one was hoping for an earlier release date, since Russell had mention a Q1 release date in an earlier review, but at least we have something solid now. Knowing Symphony X though, we'll be luck to get it before the beginning of 2012.

(sigh)

+1 SmileThese guys announced this new album since the beginning of 2010 (at least since may ’10). Probably they’ll release it at 2012. That's just like them (Paradise Lost). What do they need it for?

Listened to a couple of samples already and was somewhat disappointed. Seems they trot further along the "plain metal" path, leaving back their grandiose/innovative past Unhappy

But we shall see...
