'Crime Of The Century' and 'Fool's Overture' (and also 'Give A Little Bit' when I like to wimp out).

It's "Fool's Overture", the 'magnum opus' by Supertramp.
But the best album around by them is easily "Crime Of The Century". What a masterpiece!!!

I can say: "Fool's Overture", "Try Again" and "Child Of Vision" with Hodgson. "Brother where you bound", "Tenth Avenue Breakdown" and "Dead Man's Blues" withouth him. Then I can say that I like the whole "Breakfast in america", but only beacuse I remember listening many of those song when I was a child...

Me I have to pick at least one from each, Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies, for they are both great songwriters... so I'm telling you:
Favourite Song ( Roger Hodgson ): A Soapbox Opera ( best on "Paris" Live )
Favourite Song ( Rick Davies ): Rudy ( best in its original form on "Crime" )
Favourite Album: Breakfast in America
Greatest miss: It was the best of times
All right ?

Not a big fan of theirs but "Dreamer" is fun to listen to.

I could do without Goodbye Stranger, but Logical Song is great as well
as most of Crime of the Century (especially the first three tracks).

I like quite a few, Hide in your Shell is pretty darn good, my favourite is probably Child of Vision.
My favourite album of theirs ( I have Breakfast in America, Crime of
the Century and Even in the Quietest Moments..) is BIA.

Rudy was written about me, but I'd have to say Long Way Home.

Love every song from the first album to 'Paris'. Although a good album, they kind of lost me at 'famous last words'. 'Brother..." was also good but it just wasn't the same. I heard the other albums but I really couldn't tell you what they sound like, I was that unimpressed.
It's always been a sore spot that I love all their music and HATE dreamer. Maybe because it was overplayed, more likely because I find the melody irritating and repetetive.
Each song on the debut album are so good, I can't pick a favourite. On "Indelably..." I always got a chuckle from "Coming Home To See You" and "Rosie Had Everything Planned". I also love "Aries". "Crime..." I always loved "Hide In Your Shell" and the title track (and did I mention I HATE "Dreamer"?). On "Quietest Moments", I like "Downstream" best, followed by "Fool's Overture". On "Crisis...", I'd have to say "Soapbox Opera". On "Breakfast..." it's a toss up between "Casual Conversations" and "Logical Song". I always thought of "Paris" as a greatest hits package... except for "Dreamer" (Did I mention... ?)
After that, I'd have to admit, I really don't care about any other release. I do like Hodgson's "Lovers In The Wind", if that counts.
