Pawn Hearts is pretty brilliant, but I'm not often in the mood for it.
The Lamb is also brilliant, but more up to my taste. It gets my vote.

Thats actaully a wierd coincidense you put thos 2 up against eachothers, i bought thos 2 toghter, and they are 2 of my absolut favorit albums ever, and my favorits from the 2 bands, and both albums have realy meant alot to me, but since im a much bigger VdGG fan then Genesis, theire is no question where my vote is goin, Pawn hearts is simply my all time favorit album, but the Lamb is not far behind. Two incredible masterworks that i have listened to alot trough the years.

I really do not like Pawn Hearts- one of VdGG's worst albums.
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is one of my favorite Genesis albums, however.

Why are you doing this to me?
No vote. Two masterpieces.

I am glad this poll is at 50% split just now because this is just plain mean!!! Pawn Hearts is BEAUTIFUL and perfect. Whereas The Lamb is INTRICATE and special and draws you in to a whole world. They are so great, I wouldn't want to make a vote either way. So, I won't vote on this one.

Genesis and VdGG are probably my two favorite 70's prog bands. This time I'll go with Pawn Hearts, which is my favorite VdGG album, though I love The Lamb as well.

It's hard to compare them as I do not find any similarities between them. I could compare PH with "Animals" or "Close To The Edge" and TLLDOB" with "The Wall" maybe....
But If I have to pick one, I think I like "PAWN HEARTS" a bit more.

The only good Genesis album VS one of the less enjoyable VdGG albums. Pawn Hearts still wins.

Pawn Hearts is my pick - after all these years and loads of listening I still don't like The Lamb.

My favourite Van der Graaf Generator album vs. my favourite Genesis. I like VdGG much more. Even though I do think the Lamb is great (the only Genesis album I really like), it's still an easy vote for Pawn Hearts from me.
EDIT: Though I guess we shouldn't count bonus tracks on remastered versions, the, I think excellent, Pawn Hearts bonus tracks make the album even more special to me. Incidentally, I rather think it a shame that the double-record idea for Pawn Hearts didn't happen.
