I picked Jaki Liebezeit, but, oddly enough, not for his work in Can, but for his involvement in the short-lived German group Jail, who released one album in 1976 called You Can Help Me. Jail were a great band while they lasted, and featured a literal "Who's Who" of German musicians-along with Liebezeit, among others, there was Roland Schaeffer from Brainstorm and Guru Guru on sax, and, as a guitarist/singer on some tracks, the late Helmut Koellen who was in Triumvirat

I really dig Christian Vander but Jaki Liebezeit is awesome and I love what he did in Can(of course!)and also with Michael Rother for Flammende Herzen.
I was born in the land of Mahavishnu, not so far from Kobaia.I'm looking for the world
^Just waiting for that album myself - now I can´t wait! Did not know about Jaki´s involvement on that one
Just a little side note: Jaki´s last name Liebezeit does actually mean Liebe=Love Zeit=Time - Love time, which kind of says it all when it comes down to his style of playing. The human metronome, although he does these minuscule changes alongside some very subdued fills, that are so hard to replicate. This is coming from a drummer - I find Neil Peart much easier to play up against.

Jaki only guests on two of the tracks. You must love those six minutes of drumming enormously.

Probably my two favorite drummers in the world... yikes, how do I choose. I'll go with Vander because some of the later Can albums don't really push Jaki's potential very far. Haven't heard what he's done lately either, though I've heard some of his solo material is very good.

Yes, i do love Liebezeit's involvement with Jail-in general, i love all of that Jail album, including the guest musicians like Liebezeit (Koellen is only on a few tracks, as well, but that, in itself, sold me on Jail initially, and then i discovered i was passionate about everybody on that record, guest or otherwise)
