It's easy to say that from a comfortable point of view 40 years after it was released... I think ITWOP it's a logical follow up  to ITCOTCK, which was released just 6 months before and that's something you have to consider...
I'm not a big fan of Yes tbh, I really like Tales and Close to the Edge, but as someone said Fragile feels a little disjointed and some of the solo songs don't really help to keep the flow going

Surprised ITWOP has as many as it does, but Fragile will win, plus I added a vote to it.

Im hurting my own feelings - we are in the tough end here.
In the Wake is a wonderfull project, the piano !,  Pictures Of A City, Cadence And Cascade, Cat food.
Fragile is my favorite Yes album, and i love those solos.
Actually it is a split - but i vote Fragile.

Poseidon, simply because it's got fewer votes. Fragile is still a few notches better overall, but Pictures of a City owns everything on it.

I've never quite my head around ITWOP. I don't like the production to start with. The drum sound I find quite grating. The snare parts are very busy, as you expect on KC albums, but the snare is too dominant in the mix, and it becomes torturous to listen to. For me anyway.

Does anyone even know what I'm talking about?? Maybe it's just me, but I feel ITWOP is the weakest early KC album.

I'll go with Poseidon.  Fragile's one hell of an album, but I've always felt it was more like an EP.  The solo songs don't really help the flow much.  Poseidon is one of my preferred Crimson albums, in fact I think it trumps the more universally loved debut album.

KC did some great work on Poseidon, but Fragile is even better.

Fragile by far. A masterpiece for me (yeah, the individual pieces won't ruin it for me, and some of them really add to to album). I don't really care so much for Wake of Poseidon... for me indeed it sounds like a copy of the debut, but none of the songs do I like better than their "equivalents" from ItCotCK. And as a matter of fact, the only song I really like on Poseidon is the title track (on the other hand, for me ItCotCK is a 5 star album easily).
