I Agree with this.

On that basis it can be said that each of their first 6 albums was their best album at the time.

My favoriteis Selling England by the Pound, but Foxtrot is really close to being my top album too, mainly beacuse Supper's Ready is my absolute favorite song! I would also like to say that From Genesis to Revelation, although don't having a GREAT song, it's quite balanced and is like one big idea.
But I think my list would be: SEBTP - FOXTROT - NURSERY CRYME - TLLDOB
Yeah, I prefer the Peter Gabriel era, but I also like A Trick of the Tail...

Whoever bumped this thread (I can't be assed to go back and see the history of this) please be aware that nobody gives a f**k about necroposts in the 50'000th Genesis list/poll/jizzfest.

My favourite Genesis album is actually Invisible Touch btw

I agree, I feel like Ray Wilson should have been given another chance, his solo albums are brilliant, specially Propaganda Man and Genesis Klassik

I won't shout at you, but I am probably in a minorityLOL

I gave it a three star review, and i really wish that they had persisted with that lineup for at least one more album.

Shame, because you are missing out on some great music. Even the Phil haters would acknowledge that Trick Of The Tail is an utter classic, whilst I would have no objection in recommending Duke as one of the finest albums ever made, whilst Wind & Wuthering is clearly a model for much of the finest symphonic neo prog about.

Go on - try them. You might be pleasantly surprisedShocked

Yeah I know,  It's one of those cases where I keep meaning to and getting distracted by other music.  Your comment has motivated me to actually go listen to ToT, W&W, and Duke though.  I'm off! :)

Thumbs Up
