Hey!

Taste-wise, I'm first and foremost a metalhead, I'm just as likely to follow up a listen of CTTE with some obscure 90's death metal group as I am a King Crimson or Porcupine Tree album. Over time though, my taste in prog has really migrated away from vanilla progressive metal, and at this point really only things I'm nostalgic for make their way into my rotation (Tool, Dream Theater, Opeth), although there's still plenty of more extreme metal-oriented stuff I still listen too.

ANYWAY, the part most of you probably actually care about, my taste in more straight-ahead prog.

If you asked me to list only bands I'd say I really, REALLY like, the list would look something like this.

Gentle Giant

Rush

Although I'm familiar with a ton of stuff beyond that, there is still quite a lot I haven't gotten too yet (Only looked into Spock's Beard for the first time this week, for instance). So if based on that list there's anything you think I should check out, speak up!
