Topic: Badly need Gentle Giant Metal Posted: January 08 2012 at 17:00 |
As had already been said in the headline, I seek music that can be (loosely) described as Gentle Giant Metal Or at least Gentle-Giant-influenced Metal If it is just something that a young metal-loving (including the extreme stuff) GG fan would appreciate but sounds nothing like GG, I would be delighted as well (and a touch of RIO or avant-garde would be awesome) I don"t mind the alternative stuff as well, I love Faith No More, System of a Down and even Limp Bizkit Zappa-metal would be great too (I freaking love miRthkon) PS. I'm a forum newbie, are we allowed to swear hear? cause I would love too

f**k no, are you crazy?
Anyway, I really have no idea what to suggest. I'm trying really hard to come up with suggestions, so I'll let you know eventually if any cross my mind.

Polo, That's what I'm talking about
I admire Leprous and trying to appreciate Kayo Dot Concerning Deathspell Omega: I've checked out Kénôse since Trey Spruance recommended it in an interview but I remember not really liking it I'll probably try them again, this time an LP and what are motW and LYBM?

Polo, I've listened to Part the Second and honestly couldn't understand what was all the fuzz about
Sometimes I listen an album two years later trying to understand why I didn't like it the first time. Maybe it's one of those cases but then again there's Tool, who I consider highly overrated. I've given them a million chances to impress me with their music (as I've always been impressed by their image of an occult-friendly band) and they failed every time, so maudling can be in line with Tool. But I'll definetely try again Triceratopsoil, Yeah, I love Shining and I'll check out Zu
BTW, is it safe to speak about downloading? If it's mentioned in the rules than you have to excuse me as I believe nobody reads the rules of forums

Say here "nobody cares what you think." Although I'm pretty sure you're used to that by now.

Illegal downloading or pirating shouldn't be talked about, any other downloads though are okay.

Most of the artists I recommended aren't exactly in the best of financial situations so I strongly encourage you to save a few bucks and buy a couple of records so you can make your friends jealous.
And you cannot discuss that here.

I'm liking newbie here. Welcome to PA.
But, still, I have no idea what to suggest. What exactly do you mean by Gentle Giant metal? I'm assuming either metal with medieval or folk tendencies or metal with heavy use of polyrhythms.
