I don't like the Zappa, VDGG or KC albums at all, and Fragile is a bit too mixed (the "solo" tracks spoil some great music).

Trick of the Tail is very good, but not quite up to their magnificent earlier stuff, so I'm going for Hybris - a retro work of real quality.

No surprise for me, I went with Trick.

Aaarrghh those god damn Mondays!! When I show up at work after a weekend, it´s as if all the kids have been accumulating all of their energy, haven´t talked to a single soul in 2 days - and then they explode when they see me!! DAVID!!!!!! That´s about the time I get attacked by this army of skin coloured smurfs shouting wildly about everything under the sun.
Oh well, I´ve come to appreciate this more than when I first started out, but it´s the chilled out Sunday leading up to Monday where I am completely relaxed, that´s where I´m thinking: Damn, it´s Monday tomorrow - time to meet the hobbitt armyLOL

I went for Pawn Hearts by the way. Love that album, but then again I really love all of these albums... Including the Genesis one. Trick has really grown on me over the last couple of years. Gotta love Collin´s drumming on Los EndosBig smile

Well this is pretty much how i feel.I normally take KC,GENESIS,VDGG over YES but Fragile is my favourite YES album and the one i've enjoyed the most the last couple of days. They're all so good in their own ways of course.Trick Of The Tail is beautiful at times and it and Fragile seem to make me feel nostalgic for some reason. On paper i thought i'd vote Hybris but not this time.Really enjoying Hot Rats while Pawn Hearts and Larks' have been long time favs.
Thanks for all the feedback ! I'm still surprised Fragile won easily even though i agree with the pick.

Fragile was one of my favourite albums when I was a teenager, but it's hard for an album that I've known really well for many years to compete with more recent discoveries.  I know that in the future it's going to be the same with most music I really love now -- it will be relegated to music I once loved but no longer excites me.  One problem may be that when i really like an album, I play it pretty incessantly so it grows stale.  Actually, all of these albums feel pretty stale to me as they are all ones that I've really liked but now don't excite me nearly so much (feel well beyond the point of discovering anything new in the music).  Maybe if I get a decent stereo, or at least better headphones, I will be able to appreciate all of them almost as much as I once did as I'll pick up on subtleties/ nuances/ shades that I hadn't really noticed before (and then there's new mixes/ remastering...).

Interesting points.I almost feel fortunate that i didn't discover prog until the early 00's and i have purposely not overplayed anything once i discovered this amazing genre.I used to overpaly all the time in my late teens early twenties and it bothers me that i did that because those favourites from back then have become stale. These days if i'm guilty of anything it's not spending enough time with an album before i move on.
