Well finally Tony's new album is coming to light. Here is the link, taken from the Genesis great fan site The Movement. The album will be ready on March. And Martin Robertson will be there. Take a look in Amazon.

Very interesting. I have his previous album Seven, there were two songs in it that I really liked.

Would have been nice to see some interview regarding this.

Apparently there is a 10 minute piece with a saxophone soloist in it. Though Im not a fan of sax, it's intesting to see what the style will be.

I thought  A Curious Feeling was the only LP that had a consistency as per good tracks.
Fugitive was with a few very good tracks albeit a little poppy
After that only one or two on later Lps would stand out.

It's a shame he doesn't understand he needs to work with Hackett ---they were magic together. And seem to have similar musical interests.

Agree with the above.....Though Wind and Wuthering is not considered by most "Classic Genesis", yet the interplay that had developed between Hackett and Banks was suberb. A thought shared by Tony Banks himself.

Good, mr. Banks, release it, please.
I have to admit that I wouldn't mind another Curious Feeling, though that is not a very progressive wish, now is it?
But... at least another orchestral album is another non - commercial, so artistic, release of one of my top favorite keyboardists / composers.
And I like Seven, so please, release it!
Maybe I'll ask it for my birthday in April.

When Genesis was recording the Calling All Sations Album, the rumours were that Banks asked Hackett to join the band. At the same time Hacket were asked Banks to join his Genesis revisited project. Finally no one of the two possibilities happened. The track An Island in the darkness from his 1995 album Strictly Inc. with 17 minutes long is true progressive rock (unless in my opinion)

The new album will be presented live in the Alan Titchmarsh Show on Classic FM on February 18. In this link there is some words from Tony. Could be interesting.

Calling all stations was O.K. but not great. It didn't sound much like Genesis though, and had few real highlights. Welcome to the congo, you have to believe, welcome to the congo anybody can le-eave.

Having Hackett might have helped.

Is Tony Banks done with rock music?

It has been 14 years since his last rock oriented album, with now two classical albums.  While I enjoy his composing, I miss his playing and hope he gets back to it at some point.  It still seems strange that he has not worked with Gabriel again in some format, when they were best friends when it all began.

And they remain very close friends. However, it is fair to say that it was Banks who took Gabriel's departure the worst, simply because of that friendship. I think he felt betrayed.
