We have made a big start on album 2 and wonder if it sounds more user friendly than the first Corvus Stone album?

How does one put a video here?

Excellent! I like the new track but difficult to say whether its more 'user friendly. The debut is a lot of fun and one of my favuorite albums of 2012 so I am very much looking forward to the new album.

We do get a lot of Erms. Ha ha ha. If it ain't fun, why do it. That's my moto and luckily we all think that way in the band.

I second everything Richard said!! Approve Well ... errmm... hahaha Richard was very nice saying "difficult to say whether its more 'user friendly" hahaha!

Colin,

Hahahaha!!!  'user friendly' you say? LOL marmite maybe best to describe it Wink Big smile
The track you posted on the youtube link above starts slow with spanish scales, turning into camel and bang fab jazzy fast paced slowly turning more eclectic KC like, great tempo, pauses and continous changes haha those keys then remind me of an high action passed 80's tune and kicks into KC pace again lolol and back to fast paced tune lol this might confuse   with  it's slow and fast paced a lot of changes with easy. LOVE THE COW BELL and the 7min10 change to Floyd style!! Approve Clap

That's why I've rated your first album with four stars.... I was expecting this kind of improvement on the second Big smile

We will leave no Corvus unturned in our quest to win Pop Idol! The new music we have done will prove that. That vid is one of the real sell out tracks. Tongue

hahahaha Octopus-4, Please help? Corvus Stone is complex (or rather different/eclectic/varied) enough for the average Jo progger, thus pop idol is being a tad hyper optimistic delusional really hahahaha!!!! Big smile LOL lol Colin!!!

I disagree.  A large portion of prog is highly complex.  Most prog fans are not put off by complexity.
However, prog comes in many styles.  Some people like some styles, some like others.
That's just the way it is.

BTW, I love the new track.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Hello Evolver, we seem to think the same Big smile however when an album is not theme oriented nor lyrical inclined, from some prog reviewers they might get some slack (tastes differ and this is a good thing!). I am not a prog expert however I do tend to focus more on instrumentals compared to lyrics and those too bring out many emotions out of me, instrumentals can sing too, infact I tend to remember tunes more than lyrics plus I am not impressed by most singers unless they sound like David Byron, Freddie or Gildenlow Wink
Nice to meet you Evolver and a huge hug to you Hug ok another hug please pretty please Big smileHug

Also I must add that when an album is very diverse, all tracks sound different, for some besides being hard to describe, they might not think it's consistant. I think quite different I love it because once one track starts playing no matter where I might hear it, on radio stations etc. I immediately recognise and can name which track is playing Big smile this is brill really!! Sometimes, other band album's might sound incredible as individual tracks but whithin one album you can't tell them apart so easily really ConfusedHug
