I think they're essential additions.

I'm for both. I believe that NetsNJFan was going to be adding Akkerman, though.

Jan Akkerman wasn't really influenced enough by Brian May..so sorry ..has to be NO.

and Syd ..bless him...just wasn't camp enough.

the effect that syd had on the prog community at large cannot be understated.  I think it would be safe to say that without his approach toward music and its influence on specifically roger waters, Pink Floyd would not exist as we know them or at all.  If creating the initial spark of Pink Floyd is not deserving of being in the archives, I don't know what is.

If David Gilmour's solo work is prog enough to be here, I see no reason why Syd's isn't.

Ok, you do that. If you want, you can copy from RYM and just edit the info

That's cheating. I don't know either of them that well, owning but one Akkerman album and no Barret at all. Besides, I added Kevin Ayers today so I'm exempt.

Jan Akkerman absolutely belongs on this site in an entry seperate from Focus. His solo stuff is quite good.

I'm of the Pink Floyd is not prog mindset, so I definitely don't think that Syd is worthy of a Prog Archives entry.

Very cool! As long as Max and Rony are OK with it, then I am too!
