Just heard on the radio. Roger Waters has released an interview in which he declares that during the last The Wall tour he has had an idea for a "strong concept" and he's intentioned to go back to studio as soon as possible.

I don't know if it's true or if he will really do it, but if so, it would be a great new isn't it?

If it's anywhere near the greatness of Amused to Death, then I'm on board. Each Small Candle is good too.

That site doesn't seem very trustworthy considering the other entries about Roger. LOL

Better listen to the man himself.

Well, let's hope this is true, although I won't hold my breath.....

Amused To Death was a work of the utmost genius. Maybe the great man has one more in him.

I think Waters has been "threatening" to make a new album for about 10 years now. I remember reading about some of his ideas. First I read about his writing some songs for them (since the time when he toured and released the "In the Flesh" live album), and suposedly songs like "Each Small Candle" (which I really love) and Flickering Flame, were going to be part of that album. I don't know, perhaps "Leaving Beirut" was suposed to be part of that album. Then I read something about a concept, which was about a Taxi driver and the stories he heard form his passangers (perhaps this was suposed to be the same album). Then I read something about a double album, in which one CD was going to have love songs, and the other war songs, or something like that. However, if he really has got one more great concept to make a masterpiece with, I'm all thrilled. Though I truly believe that he needs Gilmour to refine his masterpieces, I really liked "Amused to Death" a lot, but some songs were kind of sub-par, and hopefully Gilmour would have helped to make them better, or if necessary leave them out (still, on the other hand, some of the guitar sounds and atmospheres may not have worked so well with Gilmour on guitar).

Quote of the day:

“We are simply a pop group. But because we use light and colour in our act, a lot of people seem to imagine that we are trying to put across some message with nasty, evil undertones.”

Roger Waters, New Musical Express, July 1967.

I think so. Nice to hear that Rog is up to something new. Always better than selling the same old stuff over and over again for years and years and years . Excellent interview btw .

Hi,

There was no reason for him not to have ideas, or chances to do creative work, in between the tours that he has been on for a couple of years. Everyone has a laptop, and I am pretty sure that Roger is adept to music on it, as well as anyone we have ever met, and he would have quite a few ideas and thoughts down by now!

Honestly, if Roger does not do anything else in his life, I'm quite ok with that ... I can go back and play .... radio waste ... whatever city ... radio waste .... whatever city ... radio waste ... and this time maybe use the name of several blogs and websites? ... hahaha ... that would be funny!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
