If anyone hasn't seen it, the BBC recording of Tubular Bells played live is on BBC2 now (10pm start)

Players I've so far recognised include Mike Ratledge, Fred Frith and Steve Hillage as well as Mike Oldfield, so it's a stellar lineup.

Anyone who's missed it can use BBC iplayer if they're able to access it.

Same here - good job I'm well away from the neighbours.

I could never cope with living in a semi detached house again (or the neighbours couldn't, more like).

I saw it when it was first broadcast, it was released on the Elements VHS & DVD, it's been on YouTube for quite sometime.

On stage with him are also Pierre Moerlen, Tom Newman, Mick Taylor and Karl Jenkins.
What?

And also, also appearing: Tim Hodgkinson and John Greaves (so, half of Henry Cow was playing with Oldfield this evening).

Good documentary, although I wish they'd covered Ommadawn and Hergest Ridge a bit more. I prefer both to TB..

The studio performance aired after the doc was also excellent.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

So there is a 2nd concert with Pierre Moerlin in it?

You can catch him on the "Exposed" DVD, which is fabulous and also has Pekka and Maddy in it. I have not looked at the list of musicians i a long time, but I think Steve Hillage was also a part of it.

The other one was worth the $50 dollars.

Sarcastic response - you said "for those that are not aware" and I mentioned that DVD two days ago. Tongue

I was at that gig and mainly went to see Pierre Moerlen as much as Mike Oldfield, although quite liked the album Crises. I have looked on and off for a recording of that concert for years.

That Crisis box set exceeded the demand expected by the record company so they had to make more copies. I only went for the 2 disc version which I am now slightly regretting.

The Box Set is very nice though I'd have liked more DVD footage.
