Shine on Brightly, without a doubt.  One of my favorite albums.

Procol = one of a kind, a unique band if there ever was one.

I have only heard the first three albums, but of those definitely Shine on Brightly for me too -- particularly for the magnificent " In Held Twas in I".

I love Procol...call them proto, symph, crossover, whatever but "A Whiter Shade of Pale" is one of the great popular music songs of all time and was the soundtrack for the 1967 "summer of love".  It's a tie between the first two and "Procol's Ninth" for me...I'm going for the debut album.  Besides AWSoP, the mix of eclectic prog and blues on "Something Following Me", "Salad Days", "Garden Fence", "Repent Walpurgis", "Mssr Armand", and "Seem to Have the Blues" laid the foundation for the prog bands to come.  Along with "Sgt Peppers" & "Disraeli Gears" one of my top 3 albums of 1967 Wink

Hmmm....I like the first 5 or 6 quite a bit......and there is nice stuff on Exotic and Hotel also.
I'll pick Shine since as someone said above the great In Held Twas I... is on that one.

Haven't heard them all. Looks like the debut LP is the most focused, but 'Grand Hotel' is probably the most melodic and beautiful work from those guys.
This night wounds time.

Since I'm in a downer mood at the moment I'll give Home the nod. It agrees with me right now.

Voted "Home" as 70's live with Edmonton was not on this list.

Years ago, I used to have LP's of 'A Salty Dog' and 'Something Magic' but I could never get into them. I put Procol out to dry, though was always tempted with 'Home' and 'Exotic Birds And Fruit' because they looked cool...........

I agree with you.

Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

The first 5 are all awesome. Grand Hotel slumps but has its moments. Exotic is a different sounding great Procol. My personal feelings were that after that great one being panned they dropped the ball in despair.

Picked A Salty Dog, but their best album is actually In Concert with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
