Last year I did a poll of the top 25 American acts on PA.
It's here: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=93002

So now I shall ask again, with a shorter list of the 4 that got the most votes in that poll - which is your favourite?

Miles is insane!!!!
Don't like Zappa
Listen to a lot of DT
Should listen to more Kansas

DT gets my vote. Like marillion fans define the era they like with H or Fish........I am doing the same with DT, I much prefer the Portnoy era.

I'm kind of under the impression that before my time these forums used to be packed with Dream Theater fans and then recently they all myseriously died.

Yeah, pretty much.  They certainly were more popular here several years ago, or at least you'd see more discussion of them.  I almost never see them brought up anymore.

For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.

Yeah that's a tough one but it's between those two for sure. I really am noty a fan of Kansas and while Dream Theater has their albums I like give me Davis or Zappa anytime. I think i'll take Miles today.

Although DT has considerably decreased in quality over the years, maybe that's why they haven't been discussed as much any more
