Again, both very similar and similarly rated albums on PA (4.38). Mirage has just recently overtaken Moonmadness on PA, but every website shows a different outcome, so I thought this poll might be close? Tongue

Personally, my favourite is Mirage by a long way. Moonmadness is definitely good, but nothing compared to Mirage in my mind Smile

Once again, thanks for any feedback! Big smile

Both are good, but I have always felt more liking for Moonmadness.

Moonmadness has a special place in my ears.

Mirage, that opening beercan effect is a prog icon!
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Mirage.
Moonmadness starts and ends great, but I find the "middle" songs to be somewhat lacking.

Oddly enough, the only two Camel albums I own.  I'll go with Moonmadness simply because I'll reach for it first given the opportunity.

I personally find both albums rather weak, but ... Moonmadness. The compositions are better, and Andy Ward gets to really shine.

Moonmaddness for me.

Mirage was the first album I got from them, and still is my favourite. Moonmadness is wonderful too, of course, but I feel Mirage reaches higher points.

Moonmadness.  It has its weak moments, but the brilliance of tracks like "Chord Change" and "Lunar Sea" elevate it above Mirage in my estimation.

Kind of comes down to Lunar Sea versus Lady Fantasy. Can't lose. Think I go for Mirage a bit more. Got both...

Mirage has a great feeling (or 'vibe')about it which I suspect Camel never really repeated.

Moon is full of strong tracks. Mirage has 2 strong tracks supertwister and nimrodel. Moon is twice as good
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.
