Topic: WATTER for Post/Math - members of Slint, Grails Posted: May 29 2014 at 20:05
Hi,
This one's a no-brainer. From their label's web site:
Watter is a new trio made up of close friends and collaborators whose collective pedigree reads like a desert island list of must-haves in experimental rock musicians. Multi-instrumentalists Zak Riles (Grails) and Tyler Trotter are anchored by legendary drummer Britt Walford (Slint, Evergreen) on six genre-defying pieces of monolithic mood music. For Riles and Trotter, it's a chance to dig deeper into the sandbox in which Grails have sculpted many mercurial masterpieces in recent years; for Walford, it's the opportunity to play a substantial role in a new active band for the first time in nearly twenty years.
Note that all of these songs appear on Watter's debut album, This World, which was released this week. Also note that "Small Business" features a guest performance by one Tony Levin.
And if you can't be with the prog you love, honey, love the prog you're with.

Hello. Just popping in to remind the committee that this excellent group is still on the docket. It'd be great to see them added while their album is still new enough to qualify as a new release.

^I agree they should be added before the end of the year. I read a favorable review of the album on Pitchfork btw. I don't remember if I evaluated them or not yet but I would give them a 'yes'. The only real problem here is that lately my team has been working slower than a constipated turtle.

LMAO!!!
Hey - you only have 41 bands/artists in your 'new' chart on progfreak! Mind you, I guess a large number of those are Math Rock suggestions, since it appears that Math and Post has now been merged into one team on there (previously Math Rock suggestons were dealt with in their own thread in the collab zone..and thatused to move about as fast as a constipated turtle with only one leg!!
Does this mean that all six of you are now eligible to vote for all these suggestions, or is there still autonomy for you, Angel, and Tanner in Post - and for Andy, Austin and Jason in Math?

^I think the way it works now is a suggestion needs 3 'yes' votes for inclusion, 2 for 'no'. But don't quote me on that. Everyone can vote for any suggestion.
