Two early epics, both from 1970-ish, final pieces of respective LPs. Really curious what you think.

Both are great tracks. But "Pioneers Over c" gets my vote. It was initially my favourite track from the album, but I've come to appreciate "Lost" more. Nevertheless, it is still one of my all-time favourite tracks (not just from VdGG). "After the Flood" is my favourite track from the album. Both tracks are final tracks, and both tracks contain a VdGG cacophonous section (always a good thing ).

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

I really don't know. I like both equally. So, I can't vote on this poll.

I revisited both albums extensively last week and found out that, grudgingly, that Pioneers Over c don't really work for me anymore. It used to feel like a proper closer for a 5 star album in the past, but this time I found the "free sax" part an unnecessary noodling and whole track feels disjointed... :( After the Flood - on the contrary, it fits like a glove. The whole album sounds like a musical exploration of chiaroscuro concept, "dramatic illumination", and the final piece serves that goal perfectly!
