The main contenders for me are Peter Gabriel and Anderson/Stolt. Gave up the up vote for Up.

Love that Spock's Beard album , probably my favourite of them.
I also like the Anderson Stolt , Marillion and Sig Ros albums. I enjoy Enchant but couldn't tell you which album I like best. Great band though.

It's good to see Opeth winning but there's at least 10 others that are equally as good. As l said before this a very good poll.

I now know four albums in the poll, including Marillion.

Hi,
For me, I would say that the first 10/15 years of the ECM collections make this poll seem weak. There are some nice things, but I wish we would leave some "big names" behind, because they were not (and aren't) the special creative force of the music. But I'm not sure that we can get away from the main road!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

How is a poll weak?! It's a poll, made for the fun of it. You sure love to complain... What is the "main road"? You lost me there...

Spock's Beard. The main road is where William Carlos Williams recites a poem about pickle dogs through the tech support phone lines.

Maybe "big names" are an Anathema to Mosh, but it looks like a mighty fine poll to me, Cristi. There are four albums I could vote for here, but Anathema just has the edge in my Judgement.

Mosh, I wish you just would focus on what you appreciate and maybe make your own topics instead of being critical and negative about others. By all means, make an ECM topic, Pedro.
While there may be many big names here, I actually have not heard most of these albums so this is not a well-trod road for me on the whole. I vote for Sigur Ros' (). I listened again to that album recently and enjoyed it more than ever. I also have enjoyed God Is an Astronaut. |
