Queensr˙che - Operation Mindcrime

The album opens with the sounds of a hospital environment, reappearing at the start of Eyes of a Stranger. A funny thing about that hospital audio is that I remember hearing the same clip used in an episode of The Cosby Show.

"... Doctor Blair, Doctor Blair, Doctor J Hamilton, Doctor J Hamilton..."

It's from an effects library and has appeared on a number of TV shows.

Manfred Mann's Earth Band : The good earth ( rooster singing)
Hawkwind : Reefer madness ( steam train rolling and whistling)
Hawkwind : Kadu Flyer (sounds of blowing wind)
both from their Astounding sounds amazing music LP
Peter Gabriel : Intruder ( cracking wooden doors/furnitures)

Just for the record :

Hi,

Even after 50+ years, listening to this album, you don't get that "turning of the knob" thing that so many electronic folks used ... and the music here continues to different moods and thoughts, and it just shows the quality of feeling Edgar had that was lost when he moved away to a different part of the universe. Really missed ... so electronic that it doesn't even feel electronic!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Higher and Higher by the Moody Blues. This song opens with a sound that resembles a rocket launch.

Did you read the opening post? The OP said, "However, the sounds need not be of nature."

They don't have to be sounds from nature. For example:

Weather Report - Black Market - Barbary Coast (Railway Train)

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

The same sound also closes that track, segueing to the following track, Destiny Repeats Itself, which is my favourite track on the album.

The sound of wind is used to segue from Wish You Were Here to Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 6 - 9).

Pink Floyd's more soundtrack opens with nature sounds. Then of course there's the obvious CTTE example. I can't really think of too many others off the top of my head.

Some of the examples above are definitely not nature sounds.

Also, it looks like Svettie is back yet again. Confused
