Hi,

Took me a bit to get to this listen ... and only checked this album. Will take a listen to some others at a later time.

The name of the band, is something that I would never consider, given my experiences in that area of perception, and using it on improvisational work for actors, though I always wanted to do this with musicians, but it is not to be. Musicians are not the best at improvisation, and rarely can do something away from scales, including foreign ones.

It was a surprising listen. The vocals by what seems to be various women, which are not listed as part of the band ... that is SAD ... they are excellent, and add something to the music, that makes it come alive, though the band seems to have the need to come back to a metal touch with the nice vocals, though after a few turns, it is hard to not make a comment that it is getting repetitive ... however, that is not to say that there are no good things here, and for me, the best is a soft piece that stands out ... "Life Will Never Shine On Me" ... and I probably wanted to hear more of that material, though I am not exactly a good "metal" listener, and sometimes I wonder/think that it may not be necessary, but that's my taste, obviously not the group's sentiment.

Of great interest is the long piece "Luciana", which is a nice piece, although some of the vocals in it, had already been given a touch in some other pieces in the album. It is, an impressive piece, though, again, I find the tastes for turning parts of it to metal, and leaving behind the wonderful vocals, is probably a bit much, and something that tires my ears some, as an older listener. but I'm not sure it is the metal thing, as much as it is the conventional metal touches and style, which when placed side by side with the other material that is piano driven and contains wonderful vocals, the metal part seems not as great as the other stuff. But, that is MY TASTE, not to suggest that it isn't good or it does not click ... I probably need to listen to another album, and maybe this one more time to be able to make sense of the composition, very classical in its idea as far as I can tell, with all the elements mentioned, however, as I mentioned, for my tastes, leaving behind the rest is an interesting choice, although the continuity of the long piece, and its crescendo is excellent in a lot of ways, and it is all instrumental at that point. And kinda nice ... finishing up with an acoustic touch and the vocals from one of the women ,,, that sadly I can not tell you which one is which and who is the main voice used, because she certainly has the ability and makes it work.

Nice album all around ... and the mix of different things takes a bit getting used to, but it is nice, and makes the band better, but sadly, the women are only listed as guests ... they deserve better in my book, as their vocal touches are way up there.

Nice album, however, be prepared to ear-sync and get used to the different touches and how the long piece develops and ends with ... a whimper ... after a long AND NICE crescendo.

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
