Say weren't you an Avril Lavigne fanboy, prog_bassist?

Seriously, I think we get so much exposure to pop whether we like it or not, that we are forced to decide which of it is relatively good, and once in a while find ourselves digging a good pop tune ... Seal does have a couple ... another one that I really fell for a few years ago was Lighthouse Family's High ...

i dont listen to radio on my own either but its on at work (i work at subway, so we're not allowed to play our own stuff til after 9 pm.)

anyway, i know an even better pop song though, "Kiss from a rose" by Seal. Excellent song. perfect harmonies, and really good bass groove.

right on.

^ I think the "Have a nice day" song might be the new one by Bon Jovi.  I don't intentionally listen to any music radio, so I've only had a brief listen to the song.  It didn't sound that boy-bandish to me, but then again I can't comment as I haven't been subjected to it ad nauseam.

It's not among the worst pop tunes I've heard, but we have the radio on all day at work and that song was played about once every half hour when it came out. As a result it brings me out in hives, like most most pop these days..

At the moment there is a song - dont know who by - but it sounds 'boy band' like and the chorus sings 'have a nice day' It's the most teeth grating piece of musical sh!t I've heard in along time.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I'm rather attracted to Natasha Bedingfield than to her songs
"my kingdom for a horse!" (W. Shakespeare, "Richard III")
