Listen to yourself. Effects were only a part of what made Hendrix's style so innovative. But Hendrix is not the most influential rock guitarist of all time just because he simpily made noise. I mean, if Hendrix influenced inspired Malmsteen, Vai, Satriani, and millions of other people to pick up guitar, and earned respect from his peers, including Blackmore, Clapton, Page, and SRV, you'd think there has to be more to it than his ability to simpily create random noises. Come on, use some common sense here.

I would have to take issue with the person who accused Stevie Ray Vaughn of being basically a carbon copy of Hendrix...for that, you should look to someone like Frank Marino, right? Stevie started with Hendrix as a part template, but took it different directions from that point.

It is really hard to say what Jimi would have become, had he lived. Many say he would have continued to experiment and become even more influential. I don't think it is an accident that, when lists are compiled as to the most admired guitarist (my musicians and fans alike), Jimi is almost always at the very top.

If you like art of musicians, check my site (the music section) and tell me what you think! http://www.kenmeyerjr.com
