My dear Deep Purple fans, I am proud to present you this:

http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=1969

It took me a few days to come up with a decent bio for one of my favourite, not to mention most influential bands in the history of rock, but I have done it... Hope you will all enjoy it!Smile

Any feedback is obviously welcome.... Though I double-checked my facts, there may be some inaccuracies here and there, so I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Pretty good But I think there's a liitle mistake in this scentence, with the year(I think)

Their latest album, “Rapture of the Deep” (2005), is certainly one of their best efforts since they got back together in 19984.

great bio ghost rider Brief and perfect! You could have said that Blackmore went to Rainbow, Gillan to form a jazz fusion band and Coverdale to Whitesnake but no worries that's why we have wikipedia

Ok not so brief but is really hard to make it brief for a huge bio with so many line ups.

I wouldn't trust wikipedia that much. Not all the information there is true though it is informative at times.

I'm not saying I don't trust it, but the fact is that anyone can edit the articles. Any stranger just for fun can put details or things that are not true.

The info about Whitesnake and Rainbow can be added later, though I thought it was not necessary - especially as Whitesnake are not here. It would've been necessary to mention what Gillan and Hughes did as well, and Blackmore's Night... I think all that would've made the bio way too long, and it is information that can be easily found elsewhere anyway.

In fact I do. I just don't think it's the best place to look for information. Though I use it pretty much most of the time.

A Bio of Deep Purple is difficult to fit into a few paragraphs, especially a bio that spans 40 years, but I think you managed to include all the important facts and it is very well written.
Good work Raffaella!!

I dont agree with Ian Gillan having a high voice. He may shriek ocasionaly but his voice itself is lowpitched and shouty. You can hear he influenced singers like Sammy Hagar and the guy from Rose Tattoo. Saying that he has a high voice gives a misleading impression that he sounds like Robert Plant or Geddy Lee who do really sound highpitched. I thought it was important to mention
