Todos desfallecieron
esperando su muerte,
su corta muerte diaria,
y su quebranto aciago de cada día
era como una copa negra que bebían temblando

I'll play... Jon Anderson (Yes) - lead vocals, backing vocals, conceptual input Chris Squire (Yes) - bass guitar, backing vocals Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake, & Palmer) - drums David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) - lead guitar Claudio Sanchez (Coheed & Cambria) - rhythm guitar, backing vocals, lead vocals, conceptual input, lyrics Rick Wakeman (Yes) - keyboards Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) - rhythm guitar, backing vocals, conceptual input, lyrics
So basically one day..... Roger Waters, Jon Anderson, and Claudio Sanchez (3 of the greatest epic concept album minds of progressive rock) get together and decide they should put together some kind of concept album.... basically an emotionally-accessible, cosmic, sci-fi, epic with social and political undertones. It all well and good, but to fill out the lineup they want to get the best of the best to fill out duties. They bring in Carl Palmer for drums, for his versatility. Anderson insists on Squire for bass guitar, since Roger Waters will have all kinds of other duties for the album. Claudio Sanchez and Roger Waters insist Gilmour for lead guitar. Still missing someone on keyboards however, they need a guy who can convey all kinds of emotions, back the music well, and completely take over sometimes.... so they bring in Wakeman.
