Might as well do another one of these...

Mikael Akefeldt - Vocals/ Guitars
Chuck Schuldiner - Guitars/ Vocals
Peter Hamill - Piano/ Vocals
Kerry Minnear - Keyboards/ Vocals
Jonas Reingold - Bass
Tomas Haake - Drums/ Spoken Voice
Danny Carey - Drums
That guy that plays flute on Psychotic Waltz's "A Social Grace" album - Flute

That would be the best band ever created. Two drummers, four vocalists, two guitars, two keyboard instruments... It would be enourmous. They would play in the style of a cross between BTBAM and J.S. Bach. Anyone with me on this?

ALLAN HOLDSWORTH - GUITAR
JACO PASTORIUS - BASS
BILL BRUFORD - DRUMS
RICK WAKEMAN -KEYBOARDS...

NO VOCALS AND NO FURTHER INSTRUMENTATION Approve Wink

Surely they're having lot of fun up there, include Zappa, Hendrix, Joplin, Keith Moon, tons of more, unfortunately for us.

I think If I wanted guitars I'd throw Christian Vander on them, thought I barely know any of his work.

Good thread!!!!!

Wow.

Mikael Akefeldt (Opeth, Bloodbath): Lead, Rhythm & Acoustic Guitars, Death Growls
Alex Lifeson (Rush): Rhythm & Acoustic Guitars, Backing Clean Vocals
Tony Banks (Genesis): Keyboards, Synthesizers, Organ, Piano, Mellotron, Backing Clean Vocals
John Myung (Dream Theater, Jelly Jam): Bass, Chapman Stick
Dave Mackintosh (DragonForce): Drums, Percussion

The specific sound I have in mind is of a heavy double-kick drum based, metal type of sound.  Based on the members' upbringing (and the fact that parts of Genesis' "TRESPASS" lean so close to hard rock/heavy metal-THE KNIFE for one) I think he'd be perfect for this band.

Rob, a little too KC heavy perhaps?  I think the OP wanted more diversity.  Wink

How many of those musicians played on the same KC albums? :p

Thing is, I have a particular sound in mind, and those are the musicians.

Oh, oops, amateur reading skills.

Peter Hammill - Vox, Guitar, Pianos
Gordon Haskell - Bass
Raymond Gilles-Schetagne - Percussion
Gianni Leone - Organs, Pianos, Moog, Mellotron
Christian Vander - Drums

Here's one of many:

Guitars - Tommy Bolin (R.I.P) - Deep Purple/James Gang/Cobham
Bass - John Entwistle (R.I.P) - The Who
Keys - Vincent Crane (R.I.P) - Atomic Rooster
Drums - Billy Cobham - Mahavishnu

Would be a amazing Heavy Jazzy/Funk Fusion band.

Hi.

JUST FOR FUN , let's imagine a 5 piece band with members of Prog bands. You can only choose ONE member of a ANY prog band. Please tell the origin band!

VOCAL - IAN ANDERSON (JETHRO TULL) - OK, he will play flute too Big smile
GUITAR - STEVE HOWE (YES)
BASS - JON CAMP (RENAISSANCE) - it's hard to leave Mr. SquireCry out but only one from each band...
KEYBOARDS - FLAVIO PREMOLI (PFM) - There's no other group to Keith Emerson ego LOL
DRUMS - ANDY WARD (CAMEL)

I keep trying to imagine the Folk/prog acoustic sounds, as the electric experiences too.

I am really curious to see your bands...Wink
