I have his "best of" and I think it could be considered prog folk.  Not sure what Clem and Sean might think

Bumping guys. This music deserves it.
There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Yeah guys I think almost the same, Paêbirú SHOULD be here, but I do think that the first 5 solo albuns by Zé are trully inclined to some prog tunes and moments, songs like 'A Dança Das Borboletas', ' A Peleja do Diabo Com o Dono do Céu', 'A terceira lâmina' or 'Força Verde' prove that :)

And you know, his albuns are more prog than, I don't know, Sabbath for example Tongue

Good idea Guigo! But I think Paebiru is more inclined to be here than Zé Ramalho..

"Paêbiru" is a great album, probably more proggish than 70% of the stuff lodged in PA but anyway albums alone aren't added, Flávio and "Paêbiru" is actually a joint effort by Zé Ramalho and Lula Cortez.

For those interested in both artists we can see them with Alceu Valença (center). Ramalho is the one in the left while Cortez sits on the right with a weird instrument (tricórdio). The band in the video is the superb Ave Sangria.

I think Zé Ramalho will fit here very well, in Folk, or even Related, since his very beginning with Paêbirú (http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/lula_cortes_e_ze_ramalho/paebiru/) his psychedelic folk sound there's a lot of influence from Prog Rock.

You can listen to almost all his discography in the official site:
http://www.zeramalho.com.br/sec_discografia_carr_list.php?page=2&ordem=ASC

What do you think guys?
