I'm so sorry. I mistake so often the UK realease date and write down that date of our domestic & under license release, because I bought W&W when it came out in my country, i.e. 1977.
I'm gonna to edit OP.

The only one that I know of that really stands out to me is Pat Metheny's Watercolors.
I saw a few people mention Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life, but isn't that 1976?
If we were talking '76, I'd throw in Stevie's as well as
Rush - 2112
The Enid - In the Region of the Summer Stars
Al Stewart - Year of the Cat

I guess 1976 was a better year for me.

A lot of outstanding music was still being churned out in 1977.  If I had to pick a favorite it would have to be Going For The One by Yes.  SQ is mediocre but the music is superior… Awaken people, Awaken. Big smile

I toyed with putting that on my top 20 list. I love me some ELO and like this album but not near as much as other more compact albums.

And would have, in the top 10 if it had been reduced it to a single album. The side one of the first album is awesome. I thought it fell a bit flat after that with the real standouts sprinkled throughout the remaining 3 sides.

One of the best cover and gatefold artwork of any album though. Love it.

Who else other than Ian Anderson would had the audacity to put out an electric folk-prog album at the height of Punk and get commended by NME in its review of the album?
