Whoa, I'm impressed with how productive you are. You have 4 albums of completely composed music that's not overly repetitive (from what I've heard so far, which is mostly Dark Colors) and 2 of them came out in the same year. You are inspiring me to get on the ball. Is this because you work with a limited palette so you don't get stuck making endless decisions about customizing and tweaking sounds? It's good that you are able to finish your compositions and get them out there, but at the same time I think your MIDI music could benefit from a better sound library, unless you're fine with and like that Super Nintendo sound, which does have a certain charm. What program(s) do you use? Or is it all hardware?

Like you, I also make MIDI prog rock, though mine is not metal oriented. I use a somewhat pricey DAW along with several VSTs (some free, some not). I like my setup, but having endless sound possibilities, including being able to make entirely new synth sounds, is both a blessing and a curse because having so many options causes me to strive for perfection, which is never reached. Still, I'm not going to limit my palette too much because I like to have a variety of sounds in my music. Check out the instrumental on my YouTube page to hear how realistic drum VSTs can sound, at least sometimes. If you do decide to upgrade your sounds, beware of the potential imbalance of productivity and exploration.

Back to your music, I'm mostly liking the parts that don't have the wanabe distorted guitar. If it was me, I would have the heavy parts played by wacky synthesizers or electric organ, but that's just because I'm a synth-head, though I do love Black Sabbath. Composition-wise, I do like the energy of those heavy parts. You are a very talented awesome composer. If you like it, keep doing your thing.

Listening to you album Erratic Brilliance and it kicks ass! I'm going to buy your albums when I can afford it. You write some classic stuff.
