Uomo di Pezza!

Easily.

How you guys can even be serious on this one? Supertramp is a "OK" band and "Crime of the Centhury" is their best "OK" album.

It was Contrappunti, my vote would have gone to Orme.
But now it is Supertramp's best to not Orme's best.
Elmo won't be happy but I'm planning the crime of the century and voting for Supertramp.

In hopes my vote will help Rick Davies get over his marrow cancer.  Rick Davies was my first favorite pianist.  Supertramp introduced me to progressive rock (believe it or not) and it was Crime of the Century that started it all for me.  I'm all in on the Supertramp.

Like Supertramp, loved CotC but against Le Orme ? One of the great things about these polls has been the reawakening of my love for Italian Prog. No contest I'm afraid.

Re-listening time. Uomo di Pezza is a wonderful album. A lot going on beyond the obvious keyboards and that voice is heart-rending. Unlikely to vote for Supertramp much as Crime of the Century is my favourite tramp song by a huge distance.

Thankfully this listen to Uomo was a far more successful one, so I don't have to vote for Supertramp. LOL

Quite a beautiful album, Uomo, although they sound awfully close to ELP at times. And don't get me wrong, I like ELP, it's just that when I want to listen to ELP I'll put on BSS, not an album by their Italian clone. Ermm

I think more than a few ELP fans.. and Orme fans would spit beer at the comparison.  Orme were definitely influenced by ELP... but ...well.. other than the keyboard led power trio configuration. .they really sound NOTHING alike. Beautful is ..ummm.. not a word associated with ELP if you discount the Lake ballads.  Orme is beauty and subtle musicianship. ELP was in your face aggression and showoffery of talents..

Pfff Emerson has a lot of really gorgeous piano parts, he just doesn't slow them down that much. Now, Le Orme are really different but it's more how the vocals and keys synchronise and that attention to depth in the keyboard arrangements, that make them special for me. Fantastic drumming, as well. Guitar's a bit more lightweight than Greg Lake's was when he was on form, but that's not necessarily bad.

The question is simple: have we all sang along "Dreamer" (nanananananananana, dreeeeeeeamer!) once? Yes we have!

Have we FEEL true FEELINGS while hearing all Uomo di Pezza (for me specially Gioco di Bimba and Figure di Cartone)?

I close my case.

Interesting opinions of everyone. Not only the fact Supertramp is winning Le Orme, but the reject of "Dreamer", that I always faced as the best of them...

well put Micky.  Le Orme has that romantic aspect that is largely absent from ELP.  Their sound is so much warmer to me

Yeah, the clone comment was a bit tongue in cheek, but I felt the vocal delivery was a bit Lake like as well, especially in the third track, "La porta chiusa", although a bit more King Crimson's "Peace" than ELP, admittedly.
