We file 'prog punk' in Heavy Prog. As of right now we do not consider prog punk to be it's own genre as punk and prog are pretty opposing styles of music. There a plenty of prog bands that incorporate punk into their music (e.g. TMV) and they are found under Heavy Prog. ------------- http://ow.ly/8ymqg" rel="nofollow">

Other examples: The Fall of Troy, The Sound of Animals Fighting, etc Perhaps a new subgenre would add bands like Rx Bandits or Tides of Man but really... we don't need it. Plus there aren't nearly enough extant bands to comprise a prog-punk subgenre. There's also a big punk influence in mathrock, but TMV wouldn't fit there.
