My Brightest Diamond is the project of multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer Sarah Worden (Shara Nova).

Her music is described as chamber music, baroque pop, singer/songwriter, folk and indiepop.
The music is very progressive and experimental and has very many classical influences.
She collaborated with renownend artists like Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, David Byrne, Laurie Anderson, Gabriel Kahanem, etc.

She plays piano, guitar, percussion, kalimba etc. and has a very broad vocal range.
As My Brightest Diamond she recorded at least 4 studio albums and various ep's.

Here's her website: http://www.mybrightestdiamond.com/bio/" rel="nofollow - http://www.mybrightestdiamond.com/bio/

The music is to be compared to Kate Bush and Susanne Sundfør but also Ane Brun and Tori Amos.

We have two My Brightest Diamond albums, which are both excellent. As a few similar artists are already here (such as Tori Amos), I would personally be in favour of adding her. We also saw Shara perform with The Decemberists on their Hazards of Love tour, and she was outstanding.

Thanks, that means a lot to me, to be taking seriously in this matter.
I would love to review her albums.

Oh, okay.
I was afraid the post would disappear into obscurity. I will tame my enthousiasm. Star

What is the status quo on this one?
I've heard some forum members expressing their love for this act and their wish to be included to the database.

Still no news on this wonderful artist?
Here's another live concert, showing the skills in songwriting, composition etc.
If Susanne Sundfør, Kate Bush and Bjørk are on this website, Shara Worden should be too.

Pretty interesting pop artist imo, but I don't hear anything that would warrant an inclusion.
Maybe some other collab will hear something different and forward her to a team, but I usually go by a rule of thumb ie if I can't persuade myself into thinking that x artist is doing prog I refrain from passing the suggestion on.
Anyway just my two cents

I can understand your thoughts on this.
It's mostly well crafted arty farty pop/folk, I guess. Although it's more chambermusic than pop.

But as I mentioned, other artists doing the same as Shara Worden, are on the website.
So I thought, maybe she could be here too.
I will try and find more videos, without ofcourse infringe copyrights.

I think a lot of folks here regret the inclusion of Björk and Tori Amos, but either way we never base suggestions on what is already here (the old of x is here then why not y has never worked).
A good rule of thumb for the suggester though is to scan the artists' music for rock before suggesting him/her/them. If none is to be found then there is probably no chance of making it.
This goes for My Brightest Diamond as well, because while I hear sophisticated nuances and clever instrumentation, it is still ultimately pop.

Some of her albums (especially A Thousand Shark's Teeth) has more rocking songs. Drums, bassguitar, guitar, vocals. The latter are more chamber/baroque pop/folk.

I try not to include videos wich are not official, because I don't want to encourage people to illegally upload music to YouTube.
I will see if I can find examples that are officially released.

I understand what you mean, regarding the 'rock'-aspect. Maybe I'm not a fulltime-rocker.
