Known for their experimental and artsy mixture with the sharpness of new wave and funk. Much music to dipp yuor straw in. with distinct vocalists, and character.

I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Talking Heads was alright, but I've loved Japan since the eighties.

Talking Heads and it's not even close.  Heck I had never even heard of Japan (the band) before today and after I took a listen over on YouTube I could have saved myself the trip.

Love both bands, but probably Japan have the edge.

Depends which track. Try Sons Of Pioneers, Alien or maybe Swing.
Or better still, my plug for the day - try The Pump Rooms At Bath (Kajagoogoo) - more than just your average 'New Wave' arrangement. Here I think that the 'goo were trying to emulate Japan, down to Beggs' Mick Karn styled fretless playing.

Talking Heads for me....Just because of the Big Suit and he used members from Parliament/Funkadelic in the best concert movie ever!! Pretty progressive if you ask me....Love it!!
