I believe this Buck had a streak of 7 incredibly ambitious, incredibly diverse albums. Not many artists can change so dramatically throughout their career like Tim could. Lorca is one of the three peaks of 1970 in my book (the other two are CSNY's Déjà Vu and Traffic's John Barleycorn Must Die). -------------

For some reason, I've never listened to CSNY's Deja Vu. Even though it very clearly inspired IBIS, a band I quite like. Among many others. Listening to it now, thanks!! The duel guitars in Almost Cut My Hair makes me think of some of that crazy riffing on New Trolls UT |

| If this was any other musical site, Goodbye and Hello would win hands down in this poll and if I was honest with myself I would have voted for Goodbye and Hello myself. However I voted for his most creative effort Stairsailor which is probably his best work, but not exactly easy to listen to with all the mixed musical styles going on. |

| Tough, but I'm going with Goodbye and Hello. I saw him at the opening of the Fillmore East with Big Brother and the Holding Company and Albert King, in May of 1968 with The Byrds, and in October of that year with the Jeff Beck Group. In August of 1969, two weeks before Woodstock (which I also went to) I saw him at The Atlantic City Pop Festival. |

What a strong run of albums. I tend to pick Starsailor in these polls but really Lorca is just as good...only more writhing and lonesome sounding.
