If there ever was one or if it isnt, I stil considder it as one. A big family all them who have contributed to the rise and development of prog as a genre/ way of expression and of impression / a way of life and a means to create rock/pop music in a new way. Parts of the family ofcourse are the bands ( musicians) but then also is included technicians like Alan Parson whom also is a musician in the family of prog. So are the cover art / art design makers. Like Hypignosis and Roger Dean etc. But so is promoters and Branson as promoter and long time fan whom promoted and released Mike Oldfields Tubular Bells through hes labl Virgin Records i feel is part of prog family. Both becouse he is a popular name but on tend to forgett or ignore the fact that becouse he now is a famous buisniss figure whom swims in money and owns islands is that he once hanged in the 60s alongside our fellow progers and dared to release experimental music. -------------

At least he was part of the prog family. It cannot be denied that many artists who were contracted by Virgin in the first years were proggers. -------------

Virgin undoubtedly released some legendary, high-quality progressive music in the 70's, but, from what I gather, Richard Branson himself was not much of a music head, much rather a successful businessman, who had great consultants knowledgable about contemporary music.
