Poor football, lots of hard working and running, but a lack of quality, so sad that Ajax versus Barcelona didn't turn out to be the dream finale ….

Can't believe Liverpool won this. Spurs will play a lot worse and win.

Not the greatest game I ever saw.But the way the 2 teams played, to make it to the final, they deserved to be there.

Incredible that Spurs played more like to avoid 2-0 than trying to make 1-1, a controlled defeat?

This Gooner is also pleased at the result but we are no longer competing with the likes of Man City, Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea (we are competing with the likes of Everton, West Ham, Newcastle and Wolves for a Europa League place) Unless of course our bountiful owner Mr Kroenke gets his short arms into his deep pockets. ..

Yep, this Gooner was utterly depressed at Wednesday's "effort". A pathetic performance, which exemplified all that is wrong at the club. I had hoped that Emery would turn around the culture of fourth best, but, alas, it is too deeply engrained. It will be a long time until we can take the mickey out of the Spuds with anything like conviction.

I wouldn't go that far as there was still quite a separation between us and the likes of Everton, West Ham, Newcastle and Wolves, but if the owner doesn't spend, that could well be the case over the next 5 years. We really need to buy a reliable defender like Liverpool has done with Virgil Van Dijk. Mustafi is good, but way too error prone. Sokratis is really not at the level of someone that should be playing for Arsenal and Koscielny is way over the hill... A world-class central defender would be much appreciated, Kroenke!

+1
And may I add "C'mon" with MAN, and that amazing choir and Micky's yodeling over it? Kinda defines fearless a bit differently, I suppose! (The double album with one live LP and the other a studio album)

Another team I neglected to mention who are now within Arsenal's 's slipstream: Leicester City (who finished 9th in the EPL) Not even the most rabid Gooner could argue against the following players walking UNCONTESTED into the Arsenal first team - Chilwell, MacGuire, Evans, Pereira, Ndidi, Albrighton, Tielemans, Maddison and Gray. If the rumour mill is to be believed, Emery will only be given between $40M and $50M to spend this summer (although player sales may increase this sum) If that is the case, the club will have no choice but to blood the academy youngsters and forage around for undiscovered gems in the lower leagues. With any luck we can survive as a mid table EPL club until such time as Kroenke sells up when his income streams start to dwindle. It will take between 5 and 10 years for Arsenal to reclaim their place at football's top table both domestically and in Europe.

Sentimental affection aside, I really don't think even the Man Utd diehards think Ole is the right man for their rebuilding job. Winning domestic silverware with Molde in Norway is the only box ticked on his managerial resume to date. The Class of '92's 'impact sub' doesn't strike me as the answer to problems that go all the way back up to the chief executive and his bosses (the Glazers) The big difference between Man Utd and Arsenal however, is that the former still have eye watering sums of money available to spend on new players. Whether they do this wisely is of course a different matter (recent purchases Alexis Sanchez, Paul Pogba, Fred and Matic have all been abject to the point of slapstick) Sorry for taking the thread off topic....

Hi,
I'm already thinking that if the result had been the other way ... that Liverpool would have gotten the same lack of respect.
I simply think that getting that far, is an accomplishment, and that Tottenham has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of ... specially when you consider the number of teams that tried and the ones that failed !!!!! I mean ... no Messi? No Ronaldo? No Neymar?
My congratulations to both teams ... and I do not think that anyone at Spurs should be hanging their heads low at all!
