Everything is in the title. I would like to know more songs in this style of this song by Genesis (same story telling, same musical dimension, etc...).

Thank you for your future answers.

Side 2 of the awesome 1978 eponymous release by Floridian band BABYLON has that "Epping Forest" feel. Both "Dreamfish" and "Cathedral of Mary Ruin."

No songs are really like Battle of Eping Forrest its unique in scope and imagery. Its erratoc pace and aim for detail.

The Colony of Slippermen should also be mentioned, though it is just a part of a greater story.

Fox Hill - By Camel, like nothing they’ve ever done, seemed weird to me at first but it’s clicked and it’s one of my favorite tracks

sometimes think Jethro Tull songs remind me of Epping---especially Thick as a Brick.

All I can think of is other Genesis songs written by Peter Gabriel, and they've all already been listed, so here's a cool pic of Peter Gabriel instead:

I can't understand why their weren't any band that would imitate that style... I only know a French band which was very influenced by Genesis (they do the same music but with lesser quality and its in French).

I've Never given much consideration to this, and the suggestions are quite intriguing, so thank you all.

Marillion and Big Big Train are known for being very Genesis-inspired, maybe check out some of their stuff. I'm not too familiar with either band personally, but I'm a fan of this BBT song for its Genesis-esque vibe:

Big Big Train are a good shout if you are looking for very 'English traditional prog' . They write a lot of songs about the industrial age and interesting (eccentric?!) characters that are part of our history.

If its just story telling then I would like to recommend Al Stewarts album Past Present and Future . This is nothing like the Alan Parsons produced Year Of The Cat. Stewart was expanding his song writing at this point in 1975. The track Roads To Moscow is an absolute joy if you like imagery and a story. Has been considered for inclusion to prog folk before but AS never really did another album like it sadly.

I was thinking that, too. Probably A Passion Play even more.

I'm not much interested in lyrics so these may not fit what you want in terms of storytelling, however their handling of melodies and vocals has some Epping Forest vibe at times, with some ska and punk thrown in, so if you're up for something a bit more outlandish...

This is from Cardiacs-Keyboarder William D. Drake. He is no Peter Gabriel though. Very short but quite a bit thrown in.

What about Une Nuit A Paris (One Night In Paris) by 10cc? It sort of fits the bill.

It still leaves me cold, but I've never been a Genesis fan, so this may be a resaon.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

^I don't see it. I presume "in the style of The Battle Of Epping Forest" means (a) a journey song (b) dense with words sung at at galloping pace, (c) telling a story (d) delivering the direct speech of a variety of characters in the story (e) interspersed with Prog-worthy instrumental passages. I can't think of anything that thoroughly fits this bill. There probably isn't anything.

I'd double the suggestion of Al Stewart's longer tracks, add a suggestion of Jan Dukes de Grey - Mice and Rats in the Loft for more of the folkier side, and finish off with one of my more obscure favourites that has a lot of similarities to Battle I think, Emmanuel Booz - Dans quel état j'erre:

Try the King Crimson song "Thela Hun Jinjeet" from "Discipline."  It tells a rather chilling tale....

Here's the story in Belew's own words:

If you're talking about the track I posted, said track checks all those boxes, sir. Which, is why I posted it. It's just a single 40 minute track that goes ape sh*t.

If you're not talking to me, carry on lol.

Im a big fan of how that song progresses and there’s some great melodies, but I understand it’s not for everyone

I was listening to Citizen Cain the other day and thought they might be what you're looking for.  Especially the album "Somewhere But Yesterday."  Looks like theBox's already posted a couple of links!

The Trial - Pink Floyd
A Passion Play/Thick as a Brick - Jethro Tull
Gates of Delirium - Yes

I think the Battle of Epping Forest has a unique style that is just amazing. Lots of other songs use a narrative approach but just seem to have a different vibe. Zappa did a lot of this (Billy the  Mountain, etc.), but I know of nothing else that propels a song like Peter Gabriel's performance in the Battle of Epping Forest. One of many reasons why Selling England by the Pound is such a huge deal here!

One that occurred to me yesterday was 10CC - Rubber Bullets . It has a similar vibe and a bit of 'larking around' re the Padre .
