Hi dear members. I'm very much into keyboards and Hammond organ trios especially. Is there a kind of band, like metal keyboard trio (without guitar), but playing heavy instrumental (or mostly instrumental) music ? Derek Sherinian and some of his solo projects comes to mind, he's excellent Hammond player and using a lot of distorsion, but he's more into synth shredding (guitaristic style). I'm not fan of guitar shredding, neither it's keyboard emulaton. Parallel Mind is also good, some tracks are like the heavier ELP version Also, lack of guitar is not mandatory (but keyboard as lead instrument wanted) this is something i'm looking for (Hammond part contributed by Derek Sherinian) |

Some tracks of VdGG are quite "metal", with lots of distorsion Particularly Godbluff album p.s. by "metal" I mean heavy metal style rhythm section, or drumming (blast bit, double bass) actually, Carl Palmer from ELP was one of the blast bit inventors , featured on the track The Barbarian |

| Try the Japanese band Gerard. They do a stonking version Rick Wakeman's Catherine Parr on the Keyboards Triangle tribute album . Also their album Live In Marseille is well worth checking out. |

I'm not sure if these will be heavy enough for you: (There are some guitars, but the keyboards are great, too. Check out all of Lalle Larsson's Weaveworld.) (First track esp.)
