Lately, I've been helping a friend of mine through some very heavy emotional baggage.
At this point, I need something to help me lighten up.
If anyone has some ideas on something to listen to that might lighten the mood, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance.

Samla Mammas Manna's Måltid perhaps. Some Canterbury such as Caravan or Hatfield and the North maybe. Khan's Space Shanty helped me the most through very difficult emotional times.

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

Sorry, I didn't refine that to your tastes -- I went for speed.

Perhaps Exivious' Liminal, which I have recommended elsewhere at this site in a different context, might be good if you don't know it already.

Hi Cylli Kat
I know how that feels. I too have gone down the ol’ Doctor Phil route in order to help out friends who were struggling somehow. Afterwards one does feel somewhat ‘bare’ and ‘empty’..even if you genuinely helped out said person.
Music though can really help spice up one’s spirits I find

Uplifting positive music coming up:
Perfect Beings - Vier
Lucio Battisti - Anima Latina
Dungen - 4
Tangerine Dream - Logos
Brand X - Morrocan Roll
Syd Arthur - Apricity
Demon Fuzz - Afreaka!
Bo Hansson - Sagan Om Ringen

I find Spotify comes up with some pretty good recommendations if you pick a band you like.

I guess this should not be something particularly new to anyone, but I find that Shine on you Crazy Diamond from Pink Floyd is my best therapeutical song, soothing me perfectly whenever I need it. I guess some Mike Oldfield might do the trick too, or Harmonium's 5th season album.

Moon Safari (and I'm actually quite surprised they haven't been mentioned yet). If they don't put you in a good mood with their bright vocal harmonies then nothing will.
