I've been a fan since the days of The Birthday Party. I haven't always found the music that interesting, but he's a phenomenal lyricist and a compelling performer.I'd also say that there's a dark humour in a lot of his work that often gets overlooked. Incidentally, has anybody else read his novel And the Ass Saw the Angel?
