Ah great, another question that's been answered and beaten to death. Do people ever get tired of talking about the same bands? There is more to talk about than Pink Floyd, Yes, Rush, King Crimson and Genesis. Nah you def can talk about them too much. There's much more interesting and better music out there, especially in the progressive rock scene.

They're good but certainly don't top my list. I can only listen to Shine on You Crazy Diamond so many times before I want to hear something with a bit more grit and more going on/more to come back to. Floyd is a good entry level band but they get old much quicker than some contemporaries. ------------- The sun has left the sky... ...Now you can close your eyes |

I thought just about the same. I just couldn't come up with only 5 songs... but perhaps I can with 20. And yeah, for me they are the greatest band ever, too. In no particular order: 1. One of these days. 2. Echoes. 3. Time. 4. The Great Gig in the Sky. 5. Us and Them. 6. Brain damage / Eclipse. 7. Shine on you Crazy Diamond (the whole thing). 8. Welcome to the Machine. 9. yeah man... normally I stay away from threads like this.. I'm an album kind of guy.. but I'll whip it out and try to toss a list off... 1. by a long long way... Set the Controls for the Sun. Epic... especially live versions. The musical poster child for flipping Nancy the bird and just saying YES!!! 2... *thinks.. for a minute or two* oh f**k it.. another reason why I don't usually bother with these kinds of lists..
