Hi there, the recent cover versions poll reminded me of this excellent version of Steve Hackett's Spectral Mornings. I wonder whether there are other covers of instrumentals that add vocals to good effect? (I'd say if a band redo their own instrumental with vocals, that would also qualify.) |

Oh yes, the first one is kind of obvious... the second one surprises me... had heard the It's A Beautiful Day album once a hundred years ago but didn't remember that.

 . The original Rainbow cover, on their debut album, was instrumental, but the live version does have the original lyrics. I just got things mixed up. |

Wasn't "Whiter Shade of Pale" 'borrowed' from something? Jazz instrumentals that jazz singers have added lyrics to are far too many to mention.
