Rainbow Face is a Neo-Prog band formed in 2015 from Portland, Oregon who proudly carry the banner of progressive rock while treading the waters of experimental rock and post-punk. As their name suggests, Rainbow Face constantly bombard you with musical colors as a galaxy of timbres, sounds, and styles swirl throughout each of the eight tracks on their debut album, Stars' Blood.

The members are Jake Rose (guitar, vocals), a composer of classical, film, and video game music, founded the group with former bandmate Reveneau (bass), and Salvador Altamirano-Farrell (synthesizer, organ, piano), a fellow music student. Reveneau is a veteran of post-punk (Isolator) and Altamirano-Farrell also plays drums in the off-kilter hardcore punk band, b*****d Salt. Connor Reilly, also of The Mercury Tree and Nick Prol and the Proletariats, plays drums.

On their debut album, the centerpiece track, Waves, is a 12 minute, multi-movement suite that moves effortlessly between psychedelic ballad, dark and heavy Red era King Crimson riffage, to something out of an Elfman score. Elsewhere, on Purgatory and The Fighter Pilot, the band is more aggressive, showing the influence of angular math rock and post-punk. Pirates, the 6 minute album opener, with lush Mellotron and jangly guitar, harkens back to early Pink Floyd. Throughout the album's near fifty minute run time, Rainbow Face slip effortlessly through meters, modes, and genres while retaining a consistent tone as the lyrics hit on themes of isolation, paranoia, fear of technology, and mental illness.

Welcome aboard Jake.

Have had a listen to your album. A good one.
It's a difficult case indeed. Not simply Neo, a bit Heavy (tinged with stoner flavour), not Crossover because of less link to pop / catchy texture.

I'll alert Heavy Team first, and we Neo Team will evaluate if Hev Team do not accept you. Thanks.
